Outdoor café culture for Aberdeen?

One of the joys of visiting European cities is the ability to sit out and enjoy watching life go by as you sup a coffee, or a beer at a street café. Even in winter it can be an enjoyable break.
There are some street cafés in Aberdeen, but usually they are chairs and tables on a pavement.
Perhaps the proposed City Garden could change that? One of the features of the winning design is the Belmont Plaza, a landscaped area with trees and street cafés with not a car to be seen. Could this bring a breakthrough to a more European style of relaxing, enjoying the architecture and a bit of people watching!

I do hope so.
Aberdeen currently lacks a focal point to draw people in to spend time appreciating the city. So, we tend to dash into the city for meetings, or for a bit of shopping and never stop to appreciate the amazing architecture that our Victorian predecessors created.
